How to add a character limit for Obzervr Capture

Wondering if you could limit the number of characters you can input in a Field Measurement on Obzervr Manager? There is an easy and simple way to do it.

Adding a Character Limit for a Field Measurement allows you to set the maximum input characters that a user is allowed to enter on the app. One of the main reasons this functionality is handy is for integration purposes. Obzervr is integration first, and part of that includes having features which make it easier to integrate with other systems. ERPs, like SAP, need character limits for Notes and Number fields. 

How to add a character limit for Obzervr Capture

1. Open Obzervr Manager and navigate to the Configuration page.

2. Select Measurements from the list of options under Field Measurements.

3. Click to Create a Field Measurement.

4. Select the data type. Select the ‘Number’ or ‘Notes’ data type.

5. There is an icon called Maximum Input Characters, enter the maximum limit of the characters to be entered with that field measurement.

6. Click on Save.

Now, when you enter data into the Field Measurement on the Capture app, you will only be allowed to enter the specified amount of characters. The number of characters allowed will be specified in the Field Measurement Name.
